The People Behind the Mission
Veterans Unmasked is built by individuals who understand the weight of service, the importance of being heard, and the responsibility of preserving real stories.
This isn’t just a team — it’s a group committed to ensuring that no story is lost, and no voice goes unheard.
MEET THE TEAM BEHIND THE MISSION:

Remy McNamara
Founder and CEO
Remy is a U.S. Army combat veteran and Gold Star spouse who understands firsthand the weight of service, loss, and life after the uniform. He founded Veterans Unmasked to create a place where veterans and first responders can share their stories honestly, preserving those experiences and turning them into purpose through creative expression.

April Hernandez
Vice President
April brings the perspective of a military spouse and a deep commitment to supporting veterans, first responders, and their families. As a member of Veterans Unmasked, she helps guide outreach and community-building efforts, ensuring the voices of those who serve are heard, respected, and never overlooked.

Aubrey Stokes
Secretary
Aubrey serves as the civilian voice on the Veterans Unmasked board, bringing an essential community perspective. She is committed to bridging the gap between those who have served and the public, helping ensure these stories are understood, valued, and carried beyond the uniform.

Cortney Shipley
Treasurer
Cortney is married to a veteran and is deeply rooted in a family built on service and support. Through her work in the local education system, she is committed to helping others grow and creating meaningful impact in her community. She brings that same dedication to Veterans Unmasked, supporting the mission and the voices behind it.
More Than a Team
Every person here plays a role in preserving stories that might otherwise be lost.
This mission is personal. It’s intentional. And it’s only just beginning.
Thank You
Not every story gets told.
Veterans Unmasked exists to change that.
